Cosgrove's UmbrellaThis is the first Game Maker project I ever released. It's got all the standard platform game features: passworded levels, worlds separated by bosses, collectable bonuses, moving platforms. You play as a blob of green... blob. His name is Cosgrove. You can collect "glob" and attack enemies with it as you wander through the obstacles. There's a backstory-- my only game that has one-- but you have to play it to learn it. Until the release of Terav, this game still trumped all subsequent releases in terms of the amount of mail I recieved. It may be primitive, but it appeals to a larger audience than my later projects, which tend to be abstract and horribly difficult. Prof. Mark Overmars featured this game on the official Game Maker website for a few years after its release. Although it's now an artifact, people bother me every time I try and take it down. |
