TeravTerav is a stage-based 2D scrolling tank shooter that includes an original powerup system, over 30 varieties of enemies, and several bosses. Originally the player was going to control a stationary base and have the ability to build it up while being constantly attacked, but I accidentally created a very cool engine for the realistic movement of a tank across uneven terrain, and the game transformed. The graphics are rendered using a greyscale polygon sprite that is used as its own alpha mask and then colorized. Screenshots aren't friendly toward this game-- the screen will get unbelievably hectic and animated as devious new challenges emerge. There are competitive online hiscores so you can compete with the rest of the world. Better scores will unlock cooler tanks, a hotter difficulty mode, and some other secrets. Reviews"Better than the two earlier offerings from PopCap and Jagged Blade Software." - Independent Gaming "...a game I keep coming back to, convinced I'll eventually get through..." - GameHippo.com "Less skillful players may find more frustration than fun from this game, as it is overly difficult and merciless. For others, this game is absolutely a must-play." - GameMakerGames.com Inducted on July 1st, 2006 into the Cage Match Hall of Fame at the Game Maker Community. "Je suis mega fan!!" - Le blog de Kroco et Cassie (The article seems to have been taken down-- which is too bad, because this is my favorite quote about Terav) |
